I bought this to learn 6-string bass and to see if I ultimately wanted a better instrument.

Excellent condition. A few fine surface scratches due to playing and regular use.

  • 3-piece maple bolt-on neck, Rosewood fretboard, white board & side markers, 24 frets. Black headstock top. 3-3 tuner arrangement. Graphite nut. Satin finish neck. Nice feel.
  • 2-piece Maple body. Natural with gloss finish.
  • Active 9V electronics, with master volume, pickup blend, Bass, mid, treble boost/cut.
  • Standard mono output.
  • Grover or Schaller type tuners, adjustable bridge. All black hardware.
  • Dunlop strap lock buttons - use included Dunlop locks or regular strap ends.

I think it has a good overall tone and is a good entry into the world of extended range instruments. You might want to set it up to your taste, including some fret leveling, although I only adjusted neck relief and saddle height.

I've used it for many different types of music.

Ibanez (SKB type) hard case. Made for this series of instruments, although this was probably not the original case. It has a couple of dings and one broken corner latch. All the rest is in good condition and is quite serviceable.

Can ship it in the case, well-packed and insured.

I'm selling it to defray another purchase.

Price: $450 + shipping & insurance. I can take PayPal payments.

 Carvin LB75 5 String

Made for me circa 1987. Passive electronics. Midnight blue with pearl compound that will "flash" when reflecting stage lights. Excellent condition.

A few surface scratches on the back. Some blemishes on the side of the fretboard, due to a re-fret.

  • 3-piece Maple neck-through, Ebony board, white board and side markers, 24 frets. Black headstock top. 5-0 tuner arrangement. Graphite nut.
  • Three-piece Maple body.
  • 2 volume, 2 tone knobs, pickup selector, 1 in-out phase switch per pickup (double/single coil), 1 phase switch puts pickups in/out of phase with each other.
  • Stereo AND regular mono outputs.
  • Carvin tuners (maybe Carvin-branded Grover or Schaller type).
  • Schaller roller saddle bridge.
  • Chrome hardware throughout.
  • Dunlop strap lock buttons - use included Dunlop locks or regular strap ends.

I think it has a clear, sweet tone overall. I think it makes a good bass when strung from E-C - perhaps for leads. I've also strung it from B-G and it's fine, but may need a truss rod tweak from time to time. It's been re-fretted - frets are in great shape. Some clear coat finish blemishes due to re-fret.

I've used it for many different types of music - many might find it to be a good rocker!

No case. Can ship it in a gigbag, well-packed and insured. One might also consider local pickup (Metro Atlanta, Georgia area).

Price: $430 + shipping & insurance. (with gigbag). I can take PayPal payments.
